Before the sequels Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008) and Lost Boys: The Thirst (2010) were made it had always been the intention for the sequel to be The Lost Girls. Despite a script being written the project never got off the ground.

In 2001 a washed up Corey Haim (Sam) was so broke that he had resorted to selling clumps of his hair and an extracted (decayed) tooth on eBay. The tooth was almost sold, for just $150, but the listing was pulled in line with eBay’s policy on the sale of body parts. Having struggled with drug addiction for most of his life Haim sadly died on March 10th, 2010, at the age of 38. Initially it was speculated it had been from a heroin overdose but his cause of death was later confirmed as pneumonia; the toxicology report having shown no evidence of any significant contributing factor.
